This tree planting activity offers an insight into the interesting history of Ibicencan culture, as well as an introduction to the importance of climate change and what can be done against it. On a guided tour through Ibiza's beautiful hinterland, participants will get to know the island's vegetation whilst learning about environmental protection of the Balearic Islands. The tour will end at a local farm that has a vast variety of fields and gardens. Here, guests will learn more about the cultivation of, for example, orange trees and can try local delicacies.
Making the incentive sustainable by planting a tree
At the farm, guests will be personally welcomed by the owner and invited on a tour of the area. During the tour, the group will be introduced to the process of cultivating local fruits and vegetables that can then be tried and tasted. Surrounded by the beautiful backdrop, after a brief explanation, plant a tree. With this last but important step, participants ensure a good deed is done for the environment and reduce their ecological footprint. After the event the tree will be looked after until it bears fruit.
Turning the Tree Planting into a full-day event
The location of the tree planting event is flexible and can be adapted to the needs of the group. A Finca would also be a suitable location. The event can then be combined with a paella cooking course. In order to keep the eco-friendly theme going, a climate-neutral and sustainable dinner can be organised with the Zero Km Food Xperience. The group can easily reach the location with e-bikes so that a completely emission-free event is guaranteed.
